The project

Yunlin is among the more substantial contributors to Taiwan's offshore wind capacity, with 80 Siemens Gamesa turbines generating 640 MW — enough to supply more than 600,000 households.

Working conditions

Yunlin faces the same conditions that define offshore construction in the Taiwan Strait: a compressed installation season between monsoon and typhoon periods, seabed conditions that complicate foundation installation, and seismic design requirements that do not apply in European waters.

Projects here also operate under Taiwan's local content requirements, which shape the supply chain and bring vessels and crews from a wider range of backgrounds into the same operation.

Our involvement

Nautic Energy supported Yunlin with marine and site management personnel, applying experience from European offshore wind construction to a project operating under Taiwanese regulatory and environmental conditions.
